Christian Louboutin, THE STORY OF A LEGEND

For over twenty years, Christian Louboutin has been on the minds and in the hearts of women, but mostly on their feet. His stratospheric heels have integrated into popular culture: from hip-hop stars, to strong female characters in TV shows, such as Sex and the City. The red carpet is a catwalk for his red lacquered soles, which represent more of an attitude than an accessory.
Louboutin was born in the suburbs of Paris in 1963. He owes his idea to an exhibition of African art, in which he saw the image of a woman wearing high-heel shoes crossed by a bright red line. Although the image was to ban entry to women wearing heels because they could ruin the museum's wooden floors, for Christian Louboutin it was inspirational, so much so that he started using this idea in his designs.

Some years later, the stylist had a sensual and exotic inspiration, designing his first shoes for the feet of the gracious theater ballet dancers. As the years went by, the artistic evolution of the artist was enriched by his passion for travel: his enthusiasm for the exotic, reflected in his unique and inimitable designs, shows in every collection.

There are currently more than 90 shops by Christian Louboutin around the world.
